The Greek Pirate Party

The Pirate Party of Greece was founded on 14 January 2012 and officially recognized of the Supreme Court of Greece on February 10, 2012.

The PPGR , it is part of the international movement of pirate parties and is also a member of the Pirate Parties International.

It campaigns for

• Protection of privacy and personal freedoms from interference of state and companies.
• Transparency of Public Administration.
• Reforming the law on copyright, by reducing the time and freedom protection using digital copies for personal, non-commercial use.
• Changes in the European patent legislation, leading to expensive drugs, human losses and unjust exploitation.

Simultaneously, the Pirate Parties each country focus on issues of their countries, in the context of independence between them, with core values ​​such as:

• The digital, participatory, direct democracy.
• Strengthening the Separation of Powers.
• Respect of privacy.
• The elimination of private monopolies.
• Extensive use of Open Standards and Free Software.
• Free Access to Knowledge and Culture.
• The Protection of whistle blowers, journalists and bloggers, when they disclose wrongdoing.
• The Human Liberty and Dignity.
• The informational self-determination, participation in the Digital Life and Digital Literacy.
• The right to secure existence.
• The Free and Democratically Controlled Technical Infrastructure.

The Pirate Party of Greece are not mounted on the shaft outdated left-center-right.

The Pirate Party was born in Greece21o century to become the new operating system of our society, ensuring each person the opportunity to express themselves freely to participate digitally,to live with dignity and to decide our future.
